On the Aurlandsvegen – the mountainroad between Aurland and Lærdal you’ll find a unique new breathtaking viewpoint Plattform (lookout) – Stegastein.
Situated 6 km from the centre of Aurlandsvangen. 650 metres above sea level – overlooking the Aurlandfjord.
The road between Aurland centre and Stegastein is open all year. There are Parking & toilets.
2014 – Stegastein Utsiktspukt (nasjonaleturistveger)
The viewpoint is located at the Aurlandsfjellet route. This route runs from fjord to fjord across high mountains where snow remains most of the summer. The viewing platform at Stegastein is a natural place to make a stop and offers a dizzying view over the fjord landscape. The Nærøyfjord, included on the World Heritage List, offers breathtaking scenery.
