Esperantoplatsen is a square in central Göteborg between Surbrunnsgatan and Rosenlundsgatan.

The place got its name in 1954 – on the initiative of the city’s Esperanto clubs – and it was decided to be located in the area where the Workers’ Education Union and the Esperanto movement had their activities for a long time.

Around the future Esperantoplatsen there were for a long time various warehouses and industrial premises, located near the quays at Vallgraven and Göta älv. In the old cotton magazine (owned by the City of Gothenburg), RFSL ‘s Gothenburg department moved in 1986. There was installed a café (Hellmans Café), bookstore (Rosa Rummet in Göteborg), a library and a party room – Touch. In connection with the Götatunneln construction beginning in 1999 and the house being renovated, RFSL was allowed to move to new premises.

In 2004, a “language café” opened at Esperantoplatsen, where employees mastered several languages and discussions in these languages are encouraged and different days of the week are dedicated to different languages.

Since the rebuilding of Esperantoplatsen, it has been a popular place to skate. The square consists of various different curbs, flatgaps, maunalpads and stairs.

Aschebergsgatan is a street located in Göteborg, Sweden.

Aschebergsgatan is an approximately 950 meter long street that runs through Vasastaden, Johanneberg, Landala and Lorensberg in central Göteborg since 1882. The street name has been given to the memory of the governor and the commander, Count Rutger von Ascheberg (1621-1693).

Aschebergsgatan was from the beginning only the part between Nya Allén and Engelbrektsgatan (more correctly Lilla Vasaparken), and until about 1886 that part was called Brandtdalagatan. The upper part of the street was called Öfra Korsgatan until 1882-83, when the entire extent of the street was redone.

In the current intersection of Föreningsgatan – Aschebergsgatan was Brandtdala herrgård, also called Lilla Lorensberg and Fredriksberg. The plot address was “number 105 in the city’s 12th rote”. The property was built around 1770 and the building got its mansion-like appearance in 1856 by master painter CA Bolm. The manor was demolished in 1912. Around 1830, Brandtdala was divided into two parts, Västra Brandtdala and Östra Brandtdala.

The mountain ridge in the west, which runs parallel to the steepest part of Aschebergsgatan, is called Geteryggsberget.

Lindéngruppen AB headquarters is located at Bruksgården on Ruuthsesplanaden in Höganäs, Skåne.

Lindéngruppen is a Swedish, family-owned company based and founded by Ulf G. Lindén, who in 1974–1981 was the managing director of the then listed AB Wilh. Becker, which was subsequently merged with AB Volvo. In the years 1981–1987, while he was Deputy CEO of AB Volvo, Lindén built up his own corporate operations in parallel, starting by buying out the shares in the listed AB Wilh. Beckers in 1985.

Lindéngruppen is one of Sweden’s largest family companies. It is, as the sole owner of AB Wilh. Becker, the full owner of the industrial paint manufacturer Beckers Group and of Colart, the largest international group in artistic materials. Since 2013, the company is also a half-owner of Höganäs AB, specializing in metal powder manufacturing.

Lindéngruppen is behind the art gallery Färgfabriken in Liljeholmen and Becker’s Artists’ Scholarship.
The Linden group was inherited after Ulf G. Lindén’s death in 2009 by his daughter Jenny Lindén Urnes.

Bruksgården in Höganäs was built in 1805 as the home for the managing director of Höganäs AB, a business now owned by Lindéngruppen. Bruksgården is located in an area that is classified as being of national interest, where the main building and its wings are considered to be of the highest cultural value.

Between 2009 and 2016, Petra Gipp Architects were responsible for the an extensive conversion and addition and great care and consideration was given to this historically valuable environment, both in terms of the building itself and its surroundings – the town, the square, and the garden. Because the present day is allowed to make a mark, to take a place in the archive that Bruksgården constitutes as a building, a program and a site, all of the layers of time are clarified and respected.

The extension, an interpretation of the Skanian longhouse, has been deliberately designed for a contemporary impression. The addition is a coherent sculptural structure in brick and cast concrete, with obvious impressed and protruding sections. The project is based on tactile materials that are possible to work with in a sculptural way. The dark brick, used for both the walls and roof, are bound together with mortar. The mortar presses into the inner spaces where it, in the interaction with the inner materials, concrete and plaster, is redefined in order to shape the inner rooms. A central aspect of the project is the art, which integrates the inner and outer sequence of the rooms, floorplan and organisation in a conscious way.

2021 – Jönköpings Tingsrätt on Hamngatan in Jönköping (Google Streetview)

Jönköpings tingsrätt (or Jönköping Court) is located on Hamngatan in Jönköping, Sweden.

The new building of Jönköping tingsrätt is a work from Yellon Architects in Jönköping.

The new court building is part of a comprehensive reorganization within Sweden’s courts with the aim of creating more modern, safer and more accessible courts.
As a cornerstone of a modern democratic society, the new court, like its historical predecessors, plays a central role in the cityscape with a pronounced need to radiate dignity and independence.

The location in direct connection to the police station and jail creates efficient and secure flows and together with the adjacent prosecutor’s office a complete legal center is formed. The contrast-filled world of the judiciary with a judicial activity that is traditionally symbolized by a scale is the project’s conceptual common thread. A game with contrasts that takes on many expressions.

A double-height waiting room inspired by the Asplund town hall extension in Gothenburg faces Munksjön one floor up with a staircase that is clearly advertised in the façade and radiates openness and accessibility. A warm, wood-clad interior with soft shapes contrasts with the hard, cooler exterior. A round staircase between the negotiating floor becomes a sculpture in the room. From a distance, the walls appear to be veneered, but appear up close as selected parts from six pieces of team text printed in different colors on mdf boards. Complex logistics guarantee the best possible legal security and personal protection where the parties do not risk meeting outside the negotiating room.A part of the courts’ changed way of working is that testimonies can be recorded and used in higher courts, which means that the courtrooms are technology-intensive and are planned as advanced recording studios.

A metal façade with slightly pleated façade cassettes of aluminum composite panels creates an experiential shadow play in the façade in constant change, reminiscent of an abstract wave pattern that shifts to a graphic gray scale and captures colors from the surroundings. Like a light, pleated curtain, it only opens temporarily as floor-to-ceiling slits towards the negotiating rooms.
