Mihama Promenade is located in Mihama-ku in Chiba near Tokyo in Japan.

Makuhari Messe (幕張メッセ) is a Japanese convention center outside Tokyo, located in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba city, in the northwest corner of Chiba prefecture. Designed by Fumihiko Maki, it is easily accessible by Tokyo’s commuter rail system. Makuhari is the name of the area, and Messe is a German language word meaning “trade fair”.

The convention center opened on October 9, 1989. It hosts many high-technology events.

Makuhari Messe is conveniently close to Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, and to Chiba prefecture’s black sand beaches. It is easily accessible from Kaihimmakuhari station on the Keiyō Line of East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The center is the host of the annual Tokyo Auto Salon (modified car show, in January), the biennial Tokyo Motor Show (in October), the annual Tokyo Game Show (video game hardware and software exhibition, in September), the annual Jump Festa (manga, anime, and video game exposition, in December), and the biannual Wonder Festival (toys, scale figures, and garage kits exposition, in February and July). The venue was host to several Nintendo Space World events.

The Tokyo Auto Salon (東京オートサロン Tokyo Ōto Saron) is an annual auto show held in January at the Makuhari Messe, Chiba City, Japan for Performance and custom aftermarket parts and technology displays. Hosted by the Nippon Auto Parts Aftermarket Committee (NAPAC).

The Tokyo Motor Show (東京モーターショー) is a biennial auto show held in October–November at the Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan for cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. Hosted by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), it is a recognized international show by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles, and normally sees more concept cars than actual production car introductions which is the reason why the auto press see the show as one of the motorshow’s big five (along with Detroit, Geneva, Frankfurt and Paris).

It is very likely that the photo above was taken before or after the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995. It was held from October 27 to November 8, 1995.

1995 – Tokyo Motor Show with Volvo 850 Racing (Youtube Video)

The 31st Tokyo Motor Show adopted the theme “Dream the Dream, a Car with That Feel”. This year the Japanese people suffered the Great Hanshin Earthquake and the sarin nerve-gas attack on the Tokyo subway system and the motor show’s duration was shortened by 2 days partially for security reasons. The closing time of the show, however, was extended to 19:00 to allow business people to drop in easily on weekdays. Display restrictions were softened and the exhibitors’ booths were colored with brilliant lighting, which offset the economic recession. Following the debut of the Honda Odyssey the previous year, other car makers all presented reference models in the minivan category. Meanwhile, new sports cars added another spirit to the motor show, including the Toyota MRJ, Honda SSM, and Mazda RX-01. A hybrid car, the Toyota Prius, also debuted at this year’s show. In the Theme Hall, an array of race cars was unveiled under the banner of “Cars Running Through Dreams and Adventure”, which attracted many visitors.

Muzenplein is located in The Hague, The Netherlands.

In Greek mythology, the muses, nine in number, were the goddesses of arts and science. Led by the god Apollo, they used to sing hymns to the gods at the top of Mount Parnassus.

The Resident is a large-scale urban development project that lies between the city center and Central Station . In the building plan the theme ‘Greek muses’ was chosen as a reminder of the Building for Arts and Sciences that used to be in the area. At the heart of the Resident is Muzenplein , a design by Adolfo Natalini. The Muzenplein was named after the adjacent Muzenstraat which was founded in 1874.

The square runs from Muzenstraat to Zwarteweg and is located in the Uilebomen district. The square was founded in 1995 and the buildings were erected in 2000.

Muzenplein is a design by Adolfo Natalini.

Hemmed in on all sides by buildings that run the complete gamut of modern architecture from the 1960s to the ‘90s, is this postmodern enclave to a masterplan by Rob Krier.

‘De Resident’ stitches the low-rise of the old town centre to the high rises of the business district centred on The Hague Central Station.

A new tram route from the station to the city hall compensates for the built-over tracks. Once the area had gained a new diagonal axis and a horseshoe-shaped central public space, a team of name architects from home and abroad directed by Krier and Sjoerd Soeters was enlisted to design the panoply of high-profile buildings.

Michael Graves tacked an ‘Old Dutch’ facade and two outsize pointed gable roofs onto the concrete frame of the Transitorium, a 1960s office tower constructed using the jackblock method. This and Soeters’ own trio of stepped towers together house the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Commandeering one end of the axis is Cesar Pelli’s 88 metre tall office tower for the Zurich insurance company. Krier himself designed the green Muzentoren, with Adolfo Natalini providing the housing around the new square (Muzenplein). Next on the urban planning agenda is the area centred on Carel Weeber’s Zwarte Madonna and the two mountainous blocks housing the Ministries of the Interior and Justice.

These are to make way for more giant office blocks courtesy of Hans Kollhoff. Weeber’s De Zwarte Madonna (‘Black Madonna’) was torn down in 2007.

Via di Monserrato near Piazza de Ricci in Rome.

Rome’s Via di Monserrato is The Artisanal Street of Our Dreams, according to www.cntraveler.com. Come for the painted plates. Stay for the prosecco.

Three years ago, when the visionary design boutique Chez Dédé opened on Via di Monserrato near Rome’s Palazzo Farnese, it was hardly the centro storico’s finest shopping street. But in the years since, a like-minded tribe of artisans followed, and a shop-as-salotto community was born.

Make sure to visit famous Pier Luigi restautarant on Piazza de Ricci! Fresh fish is bought at Italian ports every morning for this fine-dining seafood restaurant. Guests are greeted by an impressive fish counter, with a cocktail bar for drinks while perusing the menu. Choose between the à la carte or tasting menu, where as well as fish, there are meat, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. There is also outdoor seating. Via di Monserrato 144.

Established as titulus S. Antonii in Campo Martio in 2001, it is currently assigned to Cardinal Manuel José Macário do Nascimento Clemente.

The national church of the Portuguese people was designed by Martino Longhi the Younger (1638), Carlo Rainaldi (1657), and finally by Cristoforo Schor (1697), replacing a 15th-century church built under the initial patronage of Cardinal António Martins de Chaves. The ribbed dome (1674–76) was designed by Rainaldi.

The ceiling is stuccoed by Pompeo Gentile and frescoed by Salvatore Nobili. In the first chapel, the neoclassic monument to Alexandre de Sousa Holstein was sculpted by Antonio Canova in 1806; the second chapel has a Baptism of Christ by Giacinto Calandrucci, and a Circumcision of John the Baptist by Nicolas Lorrain. A second monument in the chapel is also by Calandrucci.

The main altar has an Apparition of the Virgin. Another chapel includes a funerary monument to ambassador Manuel Pereira de Sampaio by Pietro Bracci from 1750. The second chapel has three artworks by Lorrain: a Nativity, Adoration by the Magi, and Repose in Egypt. 2019 – Basler Messeturm on Rosentalstrasse in Basel (Google Streetview)

Basler Messeturm is located on Rosentalstrasse in Basel, Switzerland.

The Basler Messeturm (Basel Trade Fair Tower) is the third tallest building in Basel, Switzerland. Completed in 2003, it has 32 floors and is 105 m tall.

There is a bar on the top floor. The Ramada hotel chain operates a 200-room four-star hotel in the building, which also includes offices.

With the decision of Messe Basel in 1994 to maintain the traditional exhibition location, the need arose to revise and supplement the existing buildings. In addition to a new, more efficient exhibition building, a high-rise building was also considered in the adopted master plan «Messe Basel Plus». There was hardly a public discourse on the construction project in Basel. For the realization of the construction project in 1997 a one and a half year competition period was launched. A requirement of the architectural competition was that the high-rise building height should not exceed 90 meters. In the first phase of the competition, the winning design by ” Morger & Degelo & Daniele Marques ” was also included. In the revised version, the roof edge was raised to 105 meters to give the proportions an elegance due to the stocky floor plan.

The Messeturm Basel is located on the eastern edge of the Messeplatz , north of the Rosentalanlage . It is thus an integral part of the exhibition center in Basel . Due to its height, it is a dominant feature of urban planning and is widely visible in Basel due to the comparatively small number of high-rise buildings in Basel. Several Basel tram lines pass by the Messeturm. The Messeplatz is a stop and an important tram transport hub in the right bank of the Rhine. Access to the hotel is via Rosentalstrasse, which is a branch road. Apart from the trams, the area around the Messeturm is designed as a pedestrian zone. North of the Messeturm, Hall 2 of the Messe Basel, designed by Hans Hofmann , stands out with its large clock on the glass façade. Southeast of the Messeturm is the exhibition car park.

The 105-meter-high Messeturm in Basel consists of a strictly vertical main body and a laterally cantilevered structure that seems to overlap visually with the tower just barely. Since the lateral structure is only two stories high, it also appears through the brief overlap, as if he were floating. The hardly profiled outer shell of the skyscraper consists of a green-bluish glass facade.

Jofré store is located on Carrer de Bori i Fontestà in Barcelona, Spain.

Carrer de Bori i Fontestà is close to the Turó Park, also called Turó Parc , is a park located in the Sarriá-San Gervasio district of Barcelona . It is located in the middle of a large urban area and is one of the most visited places in the area. Previously (1912 – 1929) it was an amusement park that gave its name to the current park.

Its beginnings date back to the beginning of the 20th century, in 1912, when a large amusement park was inaugurated in the gardens owned by the Bertrand-Girona family, which is why it receives this denomination. In 1929 the park closed its doors, but the family made a pact with the City Council, giving it part of the land in exchange for urbanizing the rest. The City Council named Josep Bertrand on one of the streets surrounding the park. The architect Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí was in charge of designing the new structure of the park and finally opened its doors again in 1934.

Sculptures are an important element in the park. In the main area of grass we find La ben planted , sculpture by Eloïsa Cerdan that pays tribute to the Catalan writer Eugenio d’Ors , at the fountain and presiding over the promenade of the magnolias, there is a bronze sculpture that represents a classic beam thrown by two horses. At the main entrance of the park we find a large bronze sculpture in which there are represented angelic musicians playing transverse flutes; The legend says that it was sculpted in honor of the young literature lovers of the area, in order to find in its adjacent banks the peace and tranquility to be able to carry out a leisurely and exciting reading in the middle of the acoustic maelstrom that It is a city as beautiful as Barcelona.

2019 – Seven Sisters near Cuckmere Haven in Seaford

The Seven Sisters are a series of chalk cliffs by the English Channel. They form part of the South Downs in East Sussex, between the towns of Seaford and Eastbourne in southern England. They are within the South Downs National Park which is bounded by the coast, the Cuckmere and the A259 road. They are the remnants of dry valleys in the chalk South Downs, which are gradually being eroded by the sea.

From west to east, the sequence starts just east of Cuckmere Haven. The cliff peaks and the dips between them are individually named. Listed below, the peaks are in italics. There are seven hills, with an eighth one being created by the erosion of the sea.

Just east of the last peak is Birling Gap. Beyond, on the top of the next hill, is Belle Tout Lighthouse and beyond that Beachy Head. A lighthouse in the sea marks the latter headland.

The South Downs Way runs along the edge of the cliffs, taking a very undulating course. Many landmarks around the area are named after the cliffs, including the Seven Sisters Sheep Centre.

The Seven Sisters cliffs are occasionally used in filmmaking and television production as a stand-in for the more famous White Cliffs of Dover, since they are relatively free of anachronistic modern development and are also allowed to erode naturally. As a result, the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head remain a bright white colour, whereas the White Cliffs of Dover are protected due to the important port and are therefore increasingly covered in vegetation and are greening as a result. They are also featured at the beginning of the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and at the end of the film Atonement where Robbie and Cecilia always wanted to live.

Much of the 2015 feature film Mr. Holmes was filmed around the Seven Sisters.

An east-facing photo of the Seven Sisters is included as one of the default landscape wallpapers packaged with Microsoft Windows 7.

Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes is located on Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes in the south of France.

The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (Palace of Festivals and Conferences) is a convention center in Cannes, France, the venue for the Cannes Film Festival and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The building opened in 1982.

The first Palais des Festivals et des Congrès was built in 1949 to host the Cannes Film Festival. The original building was located on the boulevard of Promenade de la Croisette on the present site of the JW Marriott Cannes. That building hosted the 4th and 6th Eurovision Song Contests in 1959 and 1961.

In response to the growing success of the Film Festival and the advent of the first business conventions, such as the MIPTV Media Market since 1965, the City of Cannes decided to build a new Palais in 1979. The new building, a six-story building designed in the Modernist style by the architects Sir Hubert Bennett and François Druet, was constructed on the site of the municipal Casino. It opened in December 1982 and was expanded in 1999 with the construction of the Espace Riviera, a new space of 10,000 square meters.

In January 1992, the Society of Mixed Economy for the Events of the city of Cannes (SEMEC), was created to manage the Palais. SEMEC resulted from the merger of three non-profit organizations: Cannes Tourism, the OMACC and the association Cannes Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

The Palais des Festivals is located at the top of blvd. de la Croisette, east of the port. It has an overall space capacity of 35,000 square meters for exhibitions, as well as numerous rooms and 18 auditoriums, the largest of which has a capacity of 2,300. It is the venue for the annual Cannes Film Festival (Festival de Cannes), and possesses “modern and high-tech facilities” for housing conferences throughout the year.

Flagship of the economy in Cannes, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in 2010 received a significant renovation including three indispensable phases of work. Three first areas have been extensively renovated over the past three summers (2013-2014 and 2015), the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière, the foyer and the glass window.

In the fall 2015, the Palais des Festivals will have completed its modern renovation and will present to the Cannes Festival and the world a harmonious, bright and respectful environmental building. More than ever Cannes reinforces its radiation in France and abroad, and confirms its position of leader in the business tourism.

Danmarks Nationalbank is located on Holmens Kanal. Niels Juels Gade and Havnegade in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Danmarks Nationalbank (The central bank of Denmark) is another architectural gem by Arne Jacobsen.

The building’s stone and glass facade exudes an air of solemnity and restraint matching its trusted function as the nation’s prime money manager.

The main entrance facing Havnegade is as discreet as they come, leading through a glass sluice gate into a wedge-shaped entrance hall. The hall rises with cathedral-like proportions to the height of six storeys.

All walls and floors are marble clad, and only a little daylight filters through the narrow, perpendicular window openings. At the end of the hall, opposite the main entrance, a sculptural staircase in glass and steel is suspended from the lofty ceiling.

A characteristic trait of Arne Jacobsen’s architectural work is his meticulous attention to detail.

Offices and corridors were furnished with AJ lamps, doors fitted with AJ handles, bathrooms equipped with AJ’s ‘Vola fittings’, and his ‘Banker’s watches’ came to serve as central bank clocks.

Danmarks Nationalbank is open to the public Monday to Friday at 09:00 – 16:00. Please note that, for security reasons, photography is not permitted inside the building.
