Landbrugs- og Fiskeristyrelsen is located on Nyropsgade in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Danish Agricultural Agency is an agency under the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark. The staff of the Danish Agricultural Agency, a total of approximately 1,200 strives countrywide to create the optimal conditions for sustainable growth and green transformation in the fields of Agriculture and Plants and horticulture.
Their aim is to secure an efficient and professional administration and achieve the most benefits from working across our respective areas.

Nyropsgade, running north south, is between the main railway line to the east – the line that heads out of the main station to first Vesterport Station and then on to Nørreport – and, to the west there is Sankt Jørgens Sø, the southernmost of the lakes on the west side of the city. This is a curious part of Copenhagen … close to the station, Tivoli and the busy area around the city hall … but most cyclists and most car traffic use the busy roads to the east and west or cut across the north or south end of Nyropsgade so many may not realise that Nyropsgade opens out at the centre to a long but well-proportioned square. The Jepersen building is at the top or north-west corner of the square with the front facing you if you approach Nyropsgade along Dahlerupsgade.

The Circle Bridge (Danish: Cirkelbroen) is a pedestrian bridge spanning the southern mouth of Christianshavn Canal in the Christianshavn area of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It connects Applebys Plads to the south with Christiansbro to the north. The bridge was designed by Olafur Eliasson.

The bridge was a gift from the Nordea Foundation. It opened on 22 August 2015.

The bridge consists of five round decks with masts of different heights. The masts are held up by 118 metal cables, giving the bridge a resemblance to a series of sailing yachts. The form highlights the reverse slope of the bridge’s rails, which are made of wood from the Brazilian guariuba tree (Clarisia racemosa).

Cirkelbroen celebrates pedestrians. It reflects the daily life and intimacy that you find around the canal in the Christianshavn neighbourhood, its houseboats and sailing boats, the unique life on the ramparts. Copenhagen’s harbour was once a centre of maritime activity, and Cirkelbroen is a testimony to that history. While working on the bridge, I remembered the fishing boats I saw as a child in Iceland. In the harbour, the boats were often moored right next to each other, and it sometimes seemed that you could even cross the harbour just by walking from boat to boat.

Børnehuset Frederiksvej Kindergarten is located on Frederiksvej in Frederiksberg, west of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Frederiksvej Kindergarten was started in 2011 as a competition won by COBE in collaboration with Preben Skaarup landscape architects, Søren Jensen engineers and Learning Spaces consultants. The kindergarten is officially inaugurated by the city mayor on February 4, 2016 to mark the completion of the project.

The kindergarten aims to create a small village setting for children that break away from the traditional, large scale institutional daycare environment. The small scale village atmosphere at Frederiksvej Kindergarten is achieved by dividing the building into 11 small houses joint together with different orientation. The various play programs in the kindergarten are centered around two winter gardens that resulted in these small, individualized spaces where children can establish their own play niches within the building.

“We wanted to create a kindergarten in a class of its own. A place that provides the best possible settings for our children to grow up in, and promotes their learning and creativity. Children are our most valuable resource and it is important that they get a good and safe childhood. Today there is a tendency towards building bigger and bigger kindergartens. But it is important for us to create intimacy and space for the children’s small worlds in the kindergarten, where they spend a large part of their day.

Amager Strandpark (Amager Beach Park) is a seaside public park in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on the island of Amager and includes an artificial island and offers a total of 4.6 km of beaches. From the beach, the Middelgrunden wind farm can be seen on the horizon.

The park was founded in 1934 and in 2005 a 2 km-long artificial island was added. The island is separated from the original beach by a lagoon which is crossed by three bridges. The beach has two sections. The northern section has a natural beach environment with winding paths, broad sandy beaches and low dunes. The southern section offers a so-called city beach with a broad promenade and areas for ball play or picnicking. There is also a small marina and parking facilities at the southern end. The lagoon has low-water areas for children as well as a 1,000 m swimming course.

The area is used for runners, swimmers and kayakers, among many others. There is a space for outdoor fitness training and from a small headland, it is possible to go diving. A grassy area at the southern end of the park, known as Femøren (which translates to “the 5 øre coin”), is often used for open-air rock concerts in summer. It is also a popular spot for skateboarders. American pro skater Torey Pudwill has a picture-ad, where he kick-flips down double set stairs at Bunker 2.

Peters House is a residentional home on Sturlasgade in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The renowned photographer Peter Krasilnikoff commissioned architecture practice Studio David Thulstrup for his private residence and studio in the Islands Brygge harbour-side district of Copenhagen.

The guiding inspiration for the project evolved from worn-out warehouses and factories with their blackened steel and old bricks; a concept direction which was sparked by the desire to retain the three raw-brick walls of the original garage building on the site.

Retaining the brick walls which sit to the boundary of the narrow site, revealed the challenge of permitting light into the new building structure. The task was solved by a simple gesture with a slight twist.

A glass-walled atrium was dropped down through the center of the building volume and floods all three floors of the residence with natural light. The atrium contains expanses of dark mirror paneling creating the appearance of a far larger internal space and enhanced lighting effect. Specially selected greenery has been planted in a manner of a natural Scandinavian woodland. The atrium is the central green heart of the house.

2019 – Peters House on Sturlasgade in Copenhagen (Archdaily.com)

As a special feature, a glass-walled “roof-room” opens up towards a richly planted terrace and directs the view to the unconventional architectural treatment of the facade. The entire building is covered by a cladding of vertical strips from Brazilian hardwood. The material will slowly weather to a pale silvery grey over time, a gesture which perfectly mirrors the central philosophy of Studio David Thulstrup. Every building is created especially for the needs and imagination of the particular client. The work of the practice oscillates between a constructive architectural and material-based interior design approach, by integrating refined ideas of new materiality and bespoke pieces of furniture into a spatial vision.

2019 – Location of where the Öresundsbåtarna färjestationen used to be on Posthusplatsen in Malmö (Google Streetview)

Öresundsbåtarna färjestationen was located on Posthusplatsen and Skeppsbron in Malmö.It was located on Suellshamnen in central Malmö, close to the central station.

The ferry traffic between Malmö and Copenhagen has ancient origins. It is known that the citizens of Copenhagen in 1275 granted freedom of duty for those who “went the sea route” to Malmö. From 1522 there is a regulation which stipulates that eight sworn men in Copenhagen and as many in Malmö had to be responsible for ferry traffic between the cities. They would take a penny to transfer one person and three pennies for a horse and a man, everything from Easter to the Mickels Fair.

1955 – Öresundsbåtarna färjestationen

In 1905, when the newly started Öresundsbolaget installed the propeller steamer Öresund, built on Kockum’s shipyard in Malmö, on the Malmö-Copenhagen route. The propeller steam would soon be more. In 1908, the company presented the steamer Sweden, Scandinavia’s best equipped passenger ship with a top speed of 18 knots. Following a recession during the war years 1914-1918, traffic across the Öresund increased again to twenty. In 1935, the Öresund Company included no less than seven steamers and six motor vessels in its fleet.

During World War II, official traffic between Malmö and Copenhagen was largely down. But after the war, it increased rapidly. In the 1950s, the Öresund boats had very high passenger numbers. One kilo of butter cost three kronor in Copenhagen and in Malmö seven. The sex of price-conscious Swedish housewives grew loans throughout the decade. Now the Öresund Company also got competition from the Center Line. A ferry was docked between Malmö and Kastrup, soon a ferry between Limhamn and Dragör would also attract mainly housewives to Dragör’s stores, but also motorists on their way to the continent. However, the most mythical of all ferries that traveled the Malmö-Copenhagen route is the Malmöhus ferry . She made her maiden voyage in 1945 and was taken to the grief of many people in traffic in 1986. Parts of her interior are on display at the Malmö Museum.

1964 – Öresundsbåtarna färjestationen

The airboats in the end, speed marvels with a maximum speed of over 30 knots. The first airboats – or hydrofoil boats that they were actually named – were put into service in 1965. Now the distance in time between Malmö and Copenhagen was halved, to pious for busted business travelers but not as pleasing to more stressed sound road users.

With the Öresund Bridge, the need for ferry traffic between Malmö and Copenhagen disappeared. A perhaps millennial tradition ceased when the airplane Pilen in the autumn of 2000 made its last regular trip across the Sound.
